As science, nursing has advanced in many turns, over the centuries to accommodate the demands for the practice. Nursing has traveled long way and birthed a specialized practice now known as oncology nursing to respond to the need of patients, advances of science and technology and changes of the public's view of cancer.
The attempt to fulfill the roles of nurses in oncology paved way to the creation of PREPARE ME Theory (Holistic Nursing Interventions) as one of many responses to a fastly evolving discipline. The theory aims to deliver holistic nursing approach to cancer patients while upholding quality of life.
